America gets dunked on all the time, but I feel safe here. My only hesitation with going anywhere is that I'm black and I don't know how people in other countries generally feel about black people other than the stories i hear about, especially with Asian countries. But that's probably because he's only in the cities and never the more rural areas anymore. People don't seem as approachable or something. They just look like any other places I've seen a million times. And I gotta be honest, neither of them are as interesting. Now days he's in South Korea and Japan I guess. His streams made it seem like such a great place to live and wander around.
If I were rich and just had infinite money, I'd seriously spend time learning the language and would have purchased a home out there to visit a few times a year and live there for like a month or more at a time or something. Like, I know a joke when I see one, even if they're in poor taste, but his chat was one of the worst I had ever seen.īut before all that, he'd stream there almost everyday in the city and the country side riding around on his board interacting with different people and it was great. The worst thing about his stream was his really racist and sexist chat. I mean, he wasn't like a douche.but maybe more like.I don't know.a little bit.what's the word.snarky? pompous? Uppity? I don't know. Most of it was lies to make him look bad, but he was kind of a douche at times and his chat turned into 4chan when he got popular. He was in papers and stuff and being threatened by some guy who was apparently a triad member. There's a guy on twitch who used to stream there, but unfortunately he was pretty much driven out of the country because they felt like he made them look bad. hegemony giving way for at least around the same amount of time (if current trends in foreign policy, domestic policy, and military spending continue). A conventional hot war isn’t entirely out of the question, but I’d say we’re at least a decade off from the major Eastern powers being able to pose a significant threat to their Western counterparts, nor do I see U.S.
This certainly doesn’t mean we’re approaching an end-of-days nuclear war, though nuclear war remains a highly unlikely outcome in any conflict due to the second-strike capability of many Western nations, making it a lose-lose situation in any war.
Granted, this is only one school of thought when it comes to international politics, but it’s one that corresponds fairly well to major conflicts in the past. Viewed through the lens of power transition theory, major international conflicts tend to occur at these junctions of potential transfer of hegemony. Just speaking from my own education and background here (political scientist with a focus on international politics), we’re approaching a point in time where China is approaching a similar level of international power as the United States.
